we wait for you;
your name and renown
are the desire of our hearts.
Your name and Your renown, to spread Your name and Your fame, is indeed the desire of my heart.
More about Passion later.
“If I was an eagle, soaring through the skies, gliding through the valleys, swimming the deepest seas, I would still not fathom the depths of Your splendour & Majesty"
Life is not about doing what you feel, but what is right..
I did a mini-teleinterview with the local daily, the New Straits Times concerning the CLP exams and it was published on Sunday! It was a fun experience to do so but to my alarm, it was printed like this:
"Ong Kay Jin, 24, said the system was unfair as you have to resit all five papers even if you only fail one. "
Erm, my dear journalist, I think you didn't hear me correctly, I remember what I spoke was if you fail more than one (not only one) paper, then you have to resit all five.
Guess I'd better make it clear, at least here before the country starts banging me for giving misguided info? Haha, anyway I believe the wrong was sincerely made.
More on the article here.
A family,
with untold hurts.
A wrong,
that can never be made right.
Then your past threatens to bind you from your future,
Forgiveness is the only way.
A story of love,
of dreams,
of fear,
of forgiveness.
Untold inside the hearts of many people.
The lights went off.
As anticipation filled the air.
Tension was streaming in my blood, as enthusiasm and excitement gripped the heart and the mind of mine.
After hearing all the blood, sweat, hard work, hours that were clocked into this event, this is certainly a spectacular I would never want to miss.
And it certainly didn’t disappoint.
This is a story of hurt.
Of two generations bound by the past.
Where, in the present, their past never left them.
One bore the brunt of raising a family.
One dreamt to live the dream.
Another accepted the status quo and never spoke a word about it.
And one who lived and thirsted for vengeance.
Who can forget the stunning opening?
Who can forget the dream Cassandra longed for?
Who can forget Ginger Soup and the HOT Girls?
Who can forget where understanding began, when dreams began to fulfill, when revenge became a reality?
Who can forget the flashbacks, the threats, and the act of giving of one’s life away in order to give life to others?
Ultimately,
Who can forget, every person, knowingly or unknowingly, directly or indirectly, allow setbacks of the past and present entangle our lives?
Forgetting is a way, forgiveness is a way, but only love is the only way.
It was love that drove the Son of God on the cross.
It is love that gives us the power to untangle the entanglements of our lives.
And it is love that gives all of us a hope and a future.
Will you choose life? Will you choose love?
And the curtains came down.
The hall was filled with the roars of applause and approval.
To every member of the whole project (and to any of you who reads this), rest assured that all the effort was made was neither futile nor wasted.
It changed lives, and I know for sure that it changed mine.
I salute all of you, every single one!
Oh, Sweet Melody!
For God so loved the world,
That He would send His One and only Son,
That whosoever believes in Him,
Shall not perish,
But have everlasting life.
John 3:16
In this Easter, let's learn to reflect on what Christ has done for us.
Bearing the cross filled with sin and shame, torture and agony.
The ultimate sacrifice, the absolute symbol of love,
Potrayed by a gruesome death.
He went through the depths of hell
Only to rise again, to give us the victory.
Oh lest we forget!
That only in Christ alone,
My hope,
our hope
is found.
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love! What depths of peace!
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Brought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
During CNY, I was sms-ing with a fellow bro in Christ on relationships.
Not for the first time, both of us shared our struggles of being a single guy at this age, at these times. As each year passes by, the pressure of “finding” a girlfriend, directly, or indirectly, is getting more and more intense, not just from our friends but from our family members too.
In this day and age it is common for people, both young and old alike, to jump into relationships without thinking twice. By doing so, these people break their own hearts as quick as they made them in the first place. To me, getting into relationships now seems to be more of a trend than a treasure, something which is worth waiting for your whole life for.
Back to the conversation my bro and I had, as we promised to continue to encourage and pray for one another, and among all, we promised to wait upon God for the One He has divinely appointed for us.
As this bro proceeded in saying:
“Then, we can really testify the goodness of God to the young people that true love waits.”
True love waits.
Hmm.
This is a term which I have not heard for quite a while. Many define this term as sex is worth waiting until marriage. For me, this can mean that true love – the love of your life – is worth waiting for too.
Hence, this song is born.
This song is written from the perspective of a single, young guy (like me), on the real struggles that we face being single. Where we are in a position which the pressure around and within us to get attached is simply overwhelming. But yet we refuse to submit to all these as we cling onto our God, who is the hope of our salvation, the Author and Finisher of our Faith, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Father Almighty who knows the desires of our hearts.
As we live a life that is totally consumed in making worshipping Him a lifestyle, He is faithful, and He is good. He will never disappoint us. For nothing in Him comes too early, nothing in Him comes too late.
That in the end of the day, what really matters the most, is
True.Love.Waits.
*Please kindly take note that I am not a professional songwriter by any means (though I’ve penned a couple of songs). I too don’t dare say that I am perfect, one who knows everything, I am just a sinner saved by grace, and the whole purpose of this is to bless singles out there.
True Love Waits.
Here I stand
Lost in the midst of the crowd
Looking for
For the One to be found
All the choices that I've made
All just seem
Nothing but mistakes
People walking around
Hand in hand
So loving and proud
Am I not a good man?
I can't take this any longer
So, how?
